A fusion of old and new, Goddessdance is an entertainment that transports viewers through a series of exotic vignettes: a harem scene in which a new concubine is befriended only to be murdered by the rival wives; Serpentessa, dancing with a live python; a twist on a traditional Egyptian cane dance, performed to a hot contemporary song delivered in take-no-prisoners style by brilliant vocalist Alice Ridley; a sumptuous traditional belly dance by Jehan; a solo dance with huge gold wings, a la Loie Fuller.
The live music, composed and/or arranged by Jehan, blends traditional and modern, and features such instruments as flute, didgeridoo, numerous Middle Eastern drums, and hand clappers
